A Tantric Approach for Pregnant Women and Their Partners

Hi, I am Ananda Lev.

I'm a Tantra teacher with about 15 years of experience in this field.

When me & my partner, Adar, began our own pregnancy journey, we experienced firsthand how Tantric practices can be incredibly nourishing during this time. Inspired by our own transformation, I now share this wisdom to help other pregnant women and couples cultivate intimacy, health, and mindful presence during this powerful period.

Sexuality during pregnancy is also an interesting topic we discuss, but only in the full video course (see below).

The Sacred Nature of Pregnancy

Pregnancy is not just a physical journey — it is a sacred transition, a deep transformation of the body, heart, and soul. In Tantra, this sacred time is honored with reverence, sensual awareness, and deep connection.

🌿 Why Tantra in Pregnancy?

Tantra invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and awaken the body’s inner intelligence. During pregnancy, this can mean:

  • Feeling more connected to your changing body

  • Creating moments of shared intimacy with your partner

  • Cultivating calm, pleasure, and trust

  • Letting go of fear and stress

  • Preparing emotionally and spiritually for birth

Rather than “fixing” or “doing,” Tantra supports being — being present with what is, being kind to yourself, and being open to the mystery of creation.

Here are some more benefits of practicing Tantra during Pregnancy:

Physical Benefits

  1. Reduced physical discomfort & pain

  2. Better sleep quality

  3. Improved blood circulation

  4. Enhanced flexibility

  5. Easier labor and delivery

  6. Better posture and balance

Emotional Benefits

  1. Reduced anxiety and stress

  2. Deeper emotional connection with the partner & baby

  3. Increased self-awareness

  4. Better emotional stability

  5. Enhanced partner bonding

  6. Greater sense of peace and calm

Sounds good Ha?

In a minute we shall describe some useful practices, but just just before we do that...

🧘‍♀️ Safety First – A Gentle Reminder

We offer practices drawn from Tantra, meditation, breathwork, and loving connection. These are meant to support your well-being, not replace medical care. Please listen to your body, consult your doctor before trying new practices, and remember: you are responsible for your own choices and experience. We offer suggestions with love, but they are not prescriptive.

🌼 Tantric Practices to Support You — Trimester by Trimester

Before each exercise, we invite you to take a breath, soften your body, and come back to the present moment. These practices are invitations — do only what feels right.

First Trimester: Soft Landing

The beginning can be full of emotions. Here's a simple grounding practice:

Practice: Holding the Womb with Breath - Sit or lie comfortably. Place your hands on your belly, even if there’s no bump yet. Breathe gently into your palms. Imagine golden light filling your womb. Stay for a few minutes.

This connects you with the miracle growing inside and offers your body love and attention.

Second Trimester: Deepening Intimacy

As energy rises, this is a great time to connect with your partner.

Practice: Shared Breath & Eye Contact - Sit face to face. Look into each other’s eyes without words. Sync your breathing. Let the silence speak.

This creates emotional attunement, enhances oxytocin, and nourishes the couple bond.

Third Trimester: Trusting the Body

The body becomes heavier, slower. Now is a time to surrender.

Practice: Touch Meditation with Oil - Have your partner massage your back, feet, or belly (if that feels good) with natural oil. Move slowly, with breath. Let go of goals. Just be.

This builds safety, relaxation, and hormonal readiness for labor.

🌸 A Moment to Slow Down

In a world that often rushes us through pregnancy with checklists and timelines, these simple Tantric practices are a reminder: You are not a machine growing a baby. You are a temple of life. This time is not just about preparation — it is about presence.

Every breath is a prayer. Every touch is sacred. Every heartbeat is a rhythm of love.

🌺 Tantra and Pregnancy – A Sacred Opportunity

Tantra offers a beautiful and profound approach to pregnancy, viewing it as a sacred journey of creation. By incorporating safe and appropriate Tantric practices throughout pregnancy, women can enhance their physical comfort, emotional well-being, and spiritual connection with their growing baby.

Remember that each pregnancy is unique, and it's essential to honor your body's wisdom and adapt practices accordingly. With proper guidance and mindful attention, Tantric practices can support you through pregnancy, labor, and into motherhood.

Whether you're new to Tantra or an experienced practitioner, pregnancy offers a special opportunity to deepen your practice and connection with the divine feminine within. By approaching pregnancy with the mindfulness and reverence that Tantra teaches, you can transform this special time into a truly sacred and empowering experience.

💗 Final Words

Pregnancy can be sacred, sensual, and deeply healing — not just something to “get through,” but something to experience fully. With Tantra, every breath can be a doorway to presence. Every touch can be an act of love. Every change in your body can be met with reverence.

Whether you walk this path alone or with a partner, know that this journey is yours. Trust yourself. Love yourself. You are creating life — and that is holy.
